The Call of Nature…
Answer by taking in the unique surroundings of 40 Mile Park

Bird calls fill the air with their distinct music, and not only can they be heard but also seen. Bring binoculars and a notebook to document the incredible array of avians that swim in our waters and soar in the air above them. Walking paths and hiking trails along the lake offer you sweeping views of the prairies and mountain vistas in the distance.

The low light pollution allows you to view the stars in incredible detail, and if you bring your own telescope you might even be able to catch a view of the rings of Saturn. UNESCO World Heritage Sites Red Rock Coulee is east of the park and Writing on Stone is southwest of 40 mile, making it the perfect centralized jumping off point for your geological adventures.

World class ecological reserve, Kennedy Coulee, is nearby and hosts an astounding array of ecological diversity. Hiking trails snake through the coulees and you can view the Sweetgrass Hills over the Montana Border. The Milk River Canyon, the deepest in the Canadian Prairies, is home to some of the most diverse and undisturbed grasslands in Canada.

All of this and more surrounds 40 Mile Park making it the perfect destination for the natural explorer.
